2010 – New Release Hooks Readers with Details of Washington Fishing Spots

A Fisherman’s Guide to Selected Lakes of Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula Area

is released by author John E. Moore

Imagine a relaxing fishing trip, led by an expert who’s visited the spot many times. He knows when fish are biting – and where – and shares tips on how to catch them. This fishing guide offers just that kind of detailed information on lakes on and around the Kitsap Peninsula of northwest Washington. Instead of skimming over hundreds of lakes around the state, the author devotes a short chapter to each lake he highlights, including detailed directions and coordinates – for those who use GPS systems.

Lakes of Washington's Kitsap Peninsula Area covers lakes selected from Mason and Kitsap Counties, as well as a few in Pierce County found on Key Peninsula and some eastern Jefferson County lakes. Fisherman will find information they can use, such as each lake’s name, size, elevation, depth, characteristics and fishing tips. Species he lists are those the author has caught or has seen caught. And he’s candid about whether he’s fished in the lake and what success he’s had. Moore includes photographs he took of each lake and a description of the views, providing a visual aid for locating fishing destinations. Visitors will know whether campgrounds are nearby, as well as where to launch their boat.

John E. Moore, a 10-time Washington state record holder, has certified weight records for five species of fish. Born and raised in Washington in an outdoor-loving family, Moore has spent his whole life exploring for new places to fish across Washington, Idaho and Montana. This fishing guide is the eighth Moore has written.

Most fishing guides offer very limited information on a large number of lakes, most of which their authors have never been near. This book provides detailed information on the lake and surrounding area, as well as directions and fishing tips. All lakes included in this book have been personally visited, photographed, and in most cases fished by the author.

The emphasis is on the fisherman’s perspective, but detailed trail and camping information is provided where applicable.

The lakes selected for inclusion in this book are on and around the Kitsap Peninsula of northwest Washington. Most of the lakes are in Mason and Kitsap Counties. Also included are a few lakes in Pierce County that are found on the Key Peninsula, as well as some eastern Jefferson County lakes.

Mason County includes an area to the south of the Kitsap Peninsula, and also the southeastern corner of the Olympic Peninsula. Those areas are also covered in this book.
